Robin Nayak

Robin Nayak is the principal and chief strategist at Dare Consulting.

An advertising pioneer and brand consultant for over 30 years, Robin has been the mastermind behind many of the financial world’s most disruptive marketing platforms.

The architect of Standard Chartered’s global brand promise of Here for good, he led the bank’s global brand and marketing strategy for 18 years, designing the marketing launches of its private bank and Islamic bank, and developing transformative brand and marketing strategies across all of the bank’s retail segments and its corporate and institutional businesses. He also shaped the bank’s awarded sponsorship platform for Liverpool FC, Stand red.

Previously, he led marketing strategy for DBS Bank, along the way serving as a speech writer to its CEO, saving its much loved POSB franchise from closure, introducing its wealth brand Treasures and numerous first-to-market products.

Robin’s experience extends to insurance, where he reframed AIA’s global position, as The Real Life Company, and most recently shaped FWD’s post-pandemic marketing strategy, as Press Play. He’s worked in payments, leading Visa’s affluent portfolio globally and pioneering development of a social data engine for MasterCard. And has helped shape employer brands from within, working with Indonesia’s Bank Mandiri to define their unified staff promise.

Beyond finance, Robin famously designed TBWA’s win of the global Singapore Airlines account and became the chief global brand and marketing strategist to the world’s most awarded airline for over 10 years, introducing the world to the A380 and the SIA Singapore Grand Prix.

As a strategic brand leader, he has both built valuable brand platforms from the ground up for both B2B and B2B brands and brought specific Asian context and meaning that have added value to established global brands, including Apple, BMW, Adidas, Corona, The Ritz-Carlton, and both Sony’s consumer electronics and TV networks.

Now, after 24 years of leading strategic planning for TBWA across Asia, Robin has set up his own brand consultancy, Dare Consulting. It brings his 30 years of experience developing transformational brand, marketing and creative communication strategies to a new and wider group of businesses, those already big, and those thinking big.
